 Doug Edmonds

Sobell Bridge Club is very sad to report the sudden death of their Chairman, Doug Edmonds, on Monday, 6 September, whilst he and Anne were on holiday in Cornwall. Some of the members had seen him for the first time in 18 months only the previous Thursday as he directed on our first f2f bridge, something he had worked toward with his usual efficiency.  He was well and in good spirits.

He was first elected chairman in  2008. He did a superb job, a good organizer and decision maker, an incredibly hard worker who was committed to the club and the Michael Sobell charity of which he had recently become a trustee. He would not have asked anyone to do a job he was not prepared to do himself.

Dedicated and selfless persons are not so easy to find. He will be a difficult act to follow.

In Northwood (in the grounds of Mt Vernon Hospital)

and in Croxley Green.
